The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is a mystery anime that is going to get you entirely confused. The story of this anime revolves around a girl named Haruhi Suzumiya, who is both charming and annoying at the same time. For some strange reason, anything Haruhi wishes for becomes a reality. Our main protagonist is a normal boy named Kyon who has suddenly become an integral part of Haruhi’s life. Now, Kyon’s everyday high school life has completely changed as he has to deal with Haruhi’s shenanigans. This anime will surprise you with its brilliantly written story. The animation and art style of this anime are pretty decent too.

This anime combines the genre of mystery with horror to give us something extremely intense. Another follows the story of a boy named Kouichi Sakakibara who has just moved into a new high school. Kouichi soon discovers that this whole place has a very gloomy atmosphere for some reason, and he also gets interested in a girl who gets ignored by everyone. As Kouichi starts to associate with this girl, some very gruesome and disturbing events start to take place around him. Another is a classic horror anime that is going to be an extremely entertaining watch for you.
8. Made in Abyss
Now, let us talk about a wholesome yet strange show called Made in Abyss. This anime has a very beautiful and unique art style which is portrayed in a marvelous way by studio Kinema Citrus. The story of Made in Abyss takes place in a world where a thing called the Abyss exists. This Abyss is a massive hole which stretches down into the depths of Earth and is filled to the brim with mysteries, relics of the past and unique creatures. Our protagonist is a little girl named Riko, whose mother went into the Abyss and never returned. Together with her new-found robot companion, Riko ventures into the depths of this hole in order to find her mother.
7. Gosick
Gosick is literally an anime that is based around solving different mysteries. Gosick takes a very unique and fresh approach towards detective stories which can seem quite interesting. In this anime, we follow the story of a strange girl named Victorique de Blois, who is basically the loli version of Sherlock. With her intelligence and intuition, this girl is even able to predict the future. With more mysteries developing in every new episode, this anime keeps on getting better as the story progresses. Gosick has a pretty well-built plot, and this anime is quite enjoyable.
6. Hyouka
Hyouka is a very beautiful and unique anime by Kyoto Animation that is going to be a very peaceful watch for all of you. This anime does not give us anything intense like a murder-mystery, but it gives us a very realistic and relatable story. Houratou Oreki is our protagonist in this story, and he is a pretty resourceful guy. Houratou gets more than what he bargained for when he joins the Classics club as he has now become a part of the investigation concerning the history of this club.
