Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai is a show where characters find themselves in dirty or perverted situations. Its long name is translated to Shimoneta: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn’t Exist. The show is for those who enjoy a darker sense of humor, and find that normal comedy doesn’t quite fit their fancy as well as this does. Shimoneta is a show about spreading lewd material and having the freedom of speech in a nation where it is prohibited. 1. World Conquest Zvezda Plot
The theme of this anime is world domination. Nobody has ever been able to successfully pull off conquests, until Kate Hoshimiya, also known as Lady Venera, comes along. She is a young girl spearheading the organization called Zvezda, a group solely focussed on world domination. She is joined on her journey to conquer by Lady Plamya, Professor Um, Yasubee Yasu Morozumi, General Pepel and Roboko the robot.
A young boy named Asuta Jimon comes across Kate after running away from home. He had a fight with his father and leaves home. He has nothing to his name, nowhere to stay and finds himself out of food. Because he finds himself destitute, he becomes roped into Zvezda. The obstacle standing in the way of them and world domination is the White Light, who work for the Japanese government, who are formed only to destroy Zvezda. At first Asuta thinks that the young girl is just living out a fantasy, playing a game within the organization. However he soon realizes that Zvezda is indeed real, and that it will one day conquer Japan. This kicks off a strange and unique journey with a young boy and a very strange, strong-willed girl intent on taking over the world.
2. Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt
The show follows two sisters, Panty and Stocking, who are angels that have been kicked out of heaven due to their bad behaviour. They are banished to a place called Daten City, which falls on the border between heaven and hell. Daten is a play on the word datenshi, which means fallen angel. Daten City is a placed plagued with evil spirits or ghosts, who terrorize the land. Panty and Stocking seek refuge with Reverend Garterbelt, and under his tutelage, they learn to effectively transform their underwear and lingerie into weapons. These weapons are used to destroy the demons or ghosts, and by doing so the sisters earn heaven coins. Using enough heaven coins, the sisters want to buy their way back into heaven one day.
While their plan is clear, the sisters are constantly getting side-tracked due to their love of sweets and men. Panty is blonde haired and pale skin and loves seeking out men to spend the night with, and she does not invest as much interest in ghost hunting as her sister does. Stocking has pink and violet hair, and is a goth angel. She loves sugary food and never puts on weight. She can be rude and tempered, but is the level headed sister.
3. Prison School
Hachimitsu Private Academy is found on the outskirts of Tokyo. It is a high-class all girls boarding school that is well-known for its prestigious education and disciplined female students. This is until the school revises its policies and starts letting boys attend the school. As the new rule starts to role out, the ratio of boys to girl is one boy to two hundred girls. The five boys battle to make friends, or even acquaintances with any of the girls, so they look to pursue the next best thing – peeping into the girls’ bathroom. Before their mission proves fruitful, they are caught by the Underground Student Council and are throw into the schools prison with a one month sentence. This starts their harsh journey in school prison, and their bonds as friends are tested, along with their perverted sense of humor. They will need to find a way to make it through a whole month locked away, with only each other as company.
4. B Gata H Kei
This is a bit of an odd one. Yamada is a 15 year old girl who is new to Takizawa High School. Everybody considers her beautiful, but she does not agree. She is self-conscious of her more private parts and thinks they look weird. When entering the high school, she had a goal of casually sleeping with 100 men, but is worried that if any experienced lovers see her naked, she will be teased for her strange looking parts, or be teased for the fact that she is a virgin.
She finds the answer to her problem in Kosuda Takashi, a virgin who she sees as a way to make her sexual transition easier. Yamada now needs to find a way to seduce Kosuda into sleeping with her, but she knows absolutely nothing about sex or the art of seduction. The series is full of comedy and a darker sense of humor. Two virgins looking for a way to introduce themselves to sex, but too nervous to make the first move.
5. Seitokai Yakuindomo
Takatoshi Tsuda joins the once all-girls Ousai Private Academy. On his first day, the student council president, Shino Amakusa, calls him out for his untidy uniform. She eventually ends up offering him the title of vice president on the student council, for feeling sorry for making him late for his last class, and because she felt the student council needed a fresh male point of view. This leaves Takatoshi in a strange position, he finds himself holding this esteemed title without even attending his first class at the school.
He soon realizes that Shino is not just the studious president, she is seriously perverted and is fascinated with anything erotic, constantly passing lewd jokes. The secretary of the council Aria Shichijou is just as risqué as the president, not nearly the sheltered rich girl she appears to be. The treasurer, Suzu Hagimura is self-conscious of her elementary school looking body. Joining the school and now being vice president, Takatoshi must work his way through this new environment alongside lewd and perverted peers, who all share a sexual sense of humor.
6. Toshokan Sensou (Library War)
Kasahara Iku is the first woman who ever join the Library Task Force. Toshokan Sensou is set in near-future Japan where the Enhancement Law has been passed, censoring all books and media to the population. In retaliation, the Library Defence Force was created. To fight back against the media and book censorship, all libraries are fully equipped and defended with a military task force, who aim to protect the books and the freedom of media to the people.
Iku works hard as the only female in an all male organization. She wants to earn the same respect and power as all the other members, and more importantly she wants to help protect the libraries that she loves. She looks to follow in the footsteps of the man who saved her favorite book from being destroyed by the Enhancement Law. The series has war, love, comedy and lewd jokes that just keep coming.
7. Katte ni Kaizou
Being gullible in high school can be disastrous at times. Katsu Kaizou is 17 years old and believes in all things science fiction – ghosts, UFO’s, aliens and conspiracy theories. He likes to believe that everything happening around him is all part of a bigger plot, designed by aliens in order to take over the world. He branches out and joins the school’s science club. Here he makes friends with students who share his interest, just maybe not to the extreme that he believes. This sets upon a series of strange events, including log people, pee-blades, deadly sushi, robot invasions, living dolls, ghosts and many other weird things. Kaizo becomes fond of Umi who has a dark side that comes out more and more as the series continues. Together, they explore things outside the realms of reality, and each story is as strange and hilarious as the next.
8. My Wife is the Student Council President
Hayato Izumi is everything a student council president needs to be. He is responsible, down to earth and studious. He has a new rival though, and she wins the presidency by a landslide. Ui Wakana wins over the student body by promising comprehensive sex education to the students, giving them free condoms and other reforms. Hayato has to settle for the role of vice president, being led by Ui.
Unbeknown to them, many years ago Hayato and Ui’s parents made a drunken promise that their children would marry one day. This leads Ui to move in with Hayato, and the two become married. They now need to learn to live with each other in marriage, deal with school life, and some how hide their relationship from the rest of the student council. The series follows their quest to keep their relationship secret from the rest of the student council, and whether or not the two find love together. Polar opposites, Ui being pro-sex and open about it, and studious, responsible Hayato, the two will either end up hating each other, or being the perfect partners.
9. Kill la Kill
Ryuuko Matoi is in search of her father’s killer, looking to exact revenge upon him. She has only one lead to follow, a missing part of his Scissor Blade. She finds herself at the Honnouji Academy, which is ruled by the cold-hearted and hard Satsuki Kiryuuin, the student council representative, who rules the school with her powerful underlings called the Elite Four. The school is a vicious place to be, there is always someone looking to overthrow the leader, and there is always competition. Satsuki, as student council president, can bestow special clothing called Goku Uniforms to chosen students, which grants them superhuman abilities.
Ryuuko tries to take on one of the Elite Four, but does not come close to winning the fight due to the Goku Uniform. She retreats, but luckily she stumbles upon Senketsu, a rare Kamui. Once in contact with Ryuuko’s blood, Senketsu awakens, latching onto Ryuuko. Thanks to Senketsu, Ryuuko now has immense power which she looks to use, along with the Scissor Blade, to fight the Elite Four, making her way to Satsuki, in an attempt to uncover the person responsible for her fathers death.
10. Oruchuban Ebichu
Oruchuban Ebichu is a bit of an odd anime. Eibichu is a hamster, and at first seems like the perfect pet to keep at home. She shops, cooks, cleans and even does laundry. Everything she does is done to please her master, known as Office Lady. Office Lady and her rather unfaithful boyfriend often pass down severe and bloody punishment to Ebichu, due to her over the top exuberance and love for ice cream. Ebichu, however, doesn’t seem to mind the punishment too much. For her, it is just a step towards making her master happy, as long as her master is happy, her goal is fulfilled.
It is sad to see how her master treats her as a dollar store rat, but Ebichu still shows unconditional love for her. The series is full of sexual innuendos and scenes, explicit violence and is very adult in nature. Just try not get too upset by Ebichu’s beatings, they can be quite sad! It is not what you expect from an anime about a cute, house cleaning hamster, but that is why it has earned its place on this list!
Don’t be dismayed if you feel like all happiness has ended because you have finished watching Shimoneta. There are other disturbed and perverted anime for you to watch, to fulfil your darker fantasies. Not only are they lewd and full of innuendos, but they actually do have good story lines that make them really worth watching.
